Once the centre of the copper mining universe in the 1860's, Moonta area is steeped in cornish herigate and is still a thriving popular holiday spot.  Host to the Kernewek Lowender Cornish Festival held every 2 years.  The historic Moonta Mines Museum and the old underground copper mine is a must for all visitors. 

The tourist train will take you around on weekends - a fun thing for families to do. 

If history is not your thing, relax on the white sandy beaches or fish from the jetties at Moonta Bay or nearby Port Hughes - you are bound to catch something. 

Moonta Bay is surrounded by white sandy coves and beaches with clear blue waters.  Watch the sun set at the end of the day from our Simms Cove Beachfront Villas or fish from the shore in front.

Moonta area boasts 3 pubs, restaurants and cafes, large supermarket, antiques and a variety of retail shops.  There is something for everyone here.
